To paint what is beautiful, whether it is the landscape or the human figure is my goal, in hopes of provoking an awareness of the senses in the viewer. Like the landscape, my work is constantly changing. Color and organic patterning are the inspiration for my compositions as I seek to combine man-made colors and patterns with those of nature. I often add paper, fabric, threads, beads, embroidery and other materials to the canvas, challenging myself to a marriage of materials as well as subject matter, in an attempt to unite the physical world with the reality of the spiritual world.
